The Importance of Inclusive Design in Branding

Today, I want to discuss a topic that is very close to my heart: inclusive design. In an increasingly diverse world, it is essential for brands to communicate in ways that make everyone feel represented and included.

Inclusive design is not just about accessibility; it is also about creating experiences that resonate with a varied audience. When we design with the intention of including everyone, we not only expand our audience but also build a deeper, more authentic connection with our customers.

Recently, I worked on a project titled “Passport to the Future,” where I identified the challenges associated with using pure white backgrounds for children with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Through thorough research, I discovered that incorporating a small percentage (5%) of black in reading and writing spaces can significantly improve readability. This solution has made the design more accessible and engaging for young readers.

Takeaway: Investing in inclusive design is not just an ethical value but also a smart branding strategy.
