Reflections on a Twenty-Year Career in Graphic Design
What do we love about our work, and why do we do it? These are questions I’ve frequently pondered during my twenty-year career in graphic design, especially during the most challenging moments. Yet, it’s these very challenges, once overcome, that transform into sources of immense pride and joy.
As I’ve gained experience, the answers have become clearer. The research fueling the creative process captivates me most. My curiosity to learn and the realization of our smallness in the vast tapestry of human culture is both humbling and exhilarating.
Nurturing our inner explorer is essential to staying young at heart and avoiding complacency. It prevents us from becoming mere spectators in our own lives, which inevitably march forward in one direction.
I consider myself fortunate to have chosen a profession where solutions often arise from understanding the problem. As Massimo Vignelli once said, “Once you understand the problem, the solution comes by itself.”
Throughout my career, I’ve uncovered countless fascinating insights during my research. I plan to share these discoveries on my newly launched blog, albeit on an “irregular” schedule. Stay tuned for new articles by following my LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram pages.
